FKM refers to a synthetic elastomer with a carbon atom in the main chain or side chain containing fluorine atoms.
Since the C-F bond energy is large(up to 48 kJ/mol),and the fluorine atom covalent radius is 0.72Å,equivalent to half the C-C bond length,the fluorine atom can effectively shield the C-C main chain,ensuring the stability of the C-C chain and giving it superior performance that no other rubber can match:
