1.Check the Material Feed Point Before Equipment Inspection.

If the belt consistently deviates toward the same side at the head or tail roller,regardless of load variation,inspect the rollers first.Even a tiny misalignment between the roller axis and the conveyor centerline will make the belt creep sideways as it wraps around the roller.Material buildup on the roller surface also creates uneven local diameter and induces misalignment.The same logic applies to the tensioning system:uneven tension on both sides creates a persistent deflecting force within the belt.Without rectifying these two points,anti-deviation devices can only act as a temporary workaround.

Uneven compression of rubber skirt boards on both sides of the chute creates inconsistent running resistance across the belt.The side with higher resistance lags behind,causing the belt to drift toward the side with lower resistance.This cause is simple to verify but frequently skipped.Readjust the skirt boards to achieve uniform contact pressure on both sides,and many stubborn local misalignment issues that resist idler adjustment can be eliminated.
Ultimately,correcting belt misalignment is not about forcing the belt back into position,but restoring symmetrical force balance across the whole system.Idlers,rollers and tensioners are the adjustable components,while skirt rubber,chute seals and the dimensional stability of the conveyor belt form the foundation for even force distribution.The next time misalignment occurs,pause before using tools and troubleshoot in this order:feeding point–idlers–rollers–tension–rubber sealing parts.Identifying the root cause that breaks the balance is far more effective than repeated idler adjustments.
